Sorry, WE DO NOT WORK ON PHYSICAL/ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ON BLACKBERRYS, TREOS, OR OTHER DEVICES. We do not perform any mechanical/electronic repairs such as fixing a screen, broken connection jack or keyboard. We DO very regularly help fix other sync problems, configure Blackberry or Treo system software, and provide instruction on using your device and working more efficiently with it. But unfortunately, if you have a problem in the actual device itself, you will have to find another service to do that, and we wish you the best of luck in doing so.

Below are descriptions of our services. Generally, we will come to you and perform the service at your home or business. If you do hire us, our hourly rate is only $70 (plus $30 fee per house call), much less expensive than our competitors. Descriptions of our services:

Rejuvenate your slow computer: Computers often get bogged down with unnecessary (sometimes malicious) software, which slows the computer to a pitiful state. We can clean it up and have it running like new.
Repair crashing/non-booting computer: We can fix repair your computer, even if it won't turn on. Even if you've already decided to get a new one, we can still recover your data for you.
Remove pop-up ads, ad/spyware: Do pop-up windows constantly come up all over the place? They may not be coming from the websites you visit, but from malicious software which has placed itself on your own computer. This is a very common problem, and we can quickly and inexpensively solve it. We'll install software that will protect you in the future.
Hardware and software upgrades: If you want more disk space, faster performance (usually from more RAM/memory or a faster CPU), a DVD writer drive, updated software, or any other kind of upgrade, our experts can help you purchase the product that's right for you, then install it for you.
Virus removal & protection: Viruses are a very common problem. Your computer can become infected through websites, Word or other Office documents, Outlook, and other sources. Symptoms include data loss (corruption, deletion), excessive pop-up windows, shortcuts appearing on your desktop, web search malfunction (see below) and exceedingly slow performance.

We can clean your computer of viruses, then install anti-virus software and configure a Firewall to help protect you. We'll perform a security audit to ensure that your computer is protected from worms (like the infamous Blaster), malicious websites, and hackers.
Help you choose what to buy (computer or electronic device): If you're buying a computer or other device, having an independent consultant's advice is essential. Salespeople in computer stores are rarely knowledgeable about computers. Many of them will try to sell you more expensive products and services that you don't actually need. We'll sit down with you and give you expert independent advice on what to buy from any vendor you wish--we have no commercial sales partners.
Set up a new computer, transfer data from old computer, install software: We'll come to you to set up your computer. We can help you install any software you need, secure your computer with anti-virus software and Firewall, set up your internet connection and email, and help you get started in effectively organizing your documents and other files. We will also help you transfer your old data (documents, spreadsheets, emails, pictures, and more) onto your new machine. This is a relatively quick and easy procedure.
Set up a new Palm, Treo, Blackberry, or other handheld: We'll help you transfer your data from your old device or your computer to your new handheld. Then, we'll customize it to your needs and held you get started with it, showing you the basics if necessary.

Handheld devices are very powerful tools and are typically not used to their fullest potential. Do you want a dictionary, Harry Potter, or other eBooks or references on your handheld device? Many people enjoy receiving the New York Times, weather reports, and other news sources daily. Perhaps an expense tracker which integrates with Excel would be helpful to you. The possibilities are endless. We'll sit down and talk about your interests, then install the most useful software and features for you personally.
Back up documents & data: Computers are not foolproof. Hard drives sometimes get corrupted, and computers can get physically damaged or stolen. We can quickly create a backup of your documents and data for you, and we can set up a system for you to easily create backups as often as you wish.
Data recovery: If your computer has been damaged in some way, your documents and other data can usually be saved. We can extract the data from your hard drive and put it on a CD or DVD, which can then be transferred to your computer (we'll help you with that too). Even if your computer won't turn on, we still may be able to help you. Contact us for a free consultation.

Computer service companies often charge more than three times as much for the same recovery service that we can provide. You risk nothing by letting us take a look. If we don't recover your data, we won't charge you anything. And we'll tell you honestly if you do need to hire a data recovery specialist.
Organize your documents and other files: We probably don't have to tell you that proper organization is the key to working efficiently. However, even many organized people have trouble keeping things neatly filed on their computer. We can do this for you and teach you the best ways to stay organized in the future.

We'll clean up your desktop and create folders, easy-access shortcuts, and an archiving system to keep your data organized, so you can find it easily. We can also set up Google's Desktop Search to allow rapid searching of your entire computer for files.
Data transfer (computer, notebook/laptop, handheld): We can transfer data between various software (Outlook, Palm Desktop, Excel, and more) and many electronic devices, including desktops, laptops, Palm devices, Treos, Blackberrys, and PocketPCs.
Data wiping (e.g. before selling/donating): We can wipe all personal data from your computer (desktop or laptop) or handheld device. There are various levels of wiping we can perform, ranging from (1) a basic clearing of documents, emails, internet history, operating system, and other locations of your personal information, (2) formatting your hard drive, and (3) performing multiple complete data wipes, overwriting each bit of data up to 35 times. We'll discuss with you which option makes sense for your situation.
DSL, cable, wireless network setup: We can install a DSL or cable modem internet connection for you, and/or set up a wired or wireless network so that all the computers in your home can use the same connection. We'll tell you if a wired or wireless network makes sense for you, and we can even make it a hybrid network, with some computers wired, others wireless. And, we can make it easy for you to access and transfer files between your computers.
Put music CDs onto your iPod, computer: If you have an iPod or other mp3 player, you probably want to transfer music from your CDs onto the device. Or, you might have a CD collection that you now want on your desktop or laptop computer. We can take the hassle out of this process by doing it for you. "Internet nanny" installation (block inappropriate web content from your kids): There are millions of websites on the internet that contain content which you probably don't want your kids to see. We can help you purchase, install and configure software that lets you control what kind of websites can and can't be viewed on the internet.
Computer clean-up, reclaim disk space, reduce clutter: We'll clear your computer of software and other data that are of no use to you. Your computer may even run faster after this process. We can analyze your hard drive's contents to figure out what's really taking up space.

We'll show you which types of files you can afford to keep thousands of, and which types of files make sense to archive off of your computer or delete to save disk space. We can also back up and archive your data, and make it easy for you to do this in the future.
Fix broken Google search or Yahoo search: We have a specific problem in mind here. On many computers, a virus/adware program has configured the computer so that it doesn't access Google and Yahoo search pages as it should. Common symptom: when you try to search Google, the first page of results that comes up is for sites completely unrelated to what you were looking for.
